Puppy Foundation Training Early puppy training and socialization can prevent behavior problems and actually makes your dog smarter. If you have a puppy under the age of 5 months, now is the best time to begin training. Learn how to train your puppy basic obedience behaviors while providing your puppy with socialization to people, other puppies and new things. Start at any time in the ongoing Puppy Foundation Class or schedule private lessons to get your puppy off to the best start. AKC STAR Puppy certification available after completing at least 6 classes. Step-by-Step Dog Training Classes Ongoing group dog training classes for dogs of all ages. Flexible class set up allows you to start at anytime, pay-as-you-go and progress at your own rate. The first level of Step-by-Step classes focuses on teaching your dog the basics: sit, down, come, walking, target, off/leave it and name attention. In the following levels you will add stay, stand, accepting handling, attention, reliability with distractions, fun (and useful!) tricks and an introduction to competition obedience exercises. Step-by Step classes are a well rounded training program, ideal for owners who wish to train their dog to be a great pet and an excellent foundation for owners interested in dog sports. In Home or Out & About Private Lessons Some dog behavior issues are best addressed in the environment in which they are occur. Training and behavior counseling is available for dogs with problems ranging from "just doesn't listen" to fear and aggression issues and everything in between. Often it takes just one lesson for owners to begin to have a better behaved pet. Progress at your own pace, work on what you need with your dog and take as many or as few lessons as you need. Semi-private Lessons for family or friends are available for up to four people at a discounted rate. | Additional Services Offered By Aleron Dog Training & Behavior Counseling Include: Canine Good Citizen Testing Nikki is an approved American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator. Testing can be arranged for individual owners and dogs or done in a group setting. Temperament Tests for Litters Comprehensive evaluation of puppies as individuals and within the litter. Written critiques with training suggestions are given for each puppy. This helps breeders ensure they are matching their puppies up with the right owners and helps owners determine which puppy best suits their lifestyle. Temperament Testing is available for individuals looking at to buy puppy. The litter's owner must give approval for the testing and the puppies should be at least 8 weeks old with their first vaccines. |
